Outdatedness

Wednesday, December 12, 2007

This post will be unbelievingly outdated. Still posting for filler content. Hah.
Went for 2 birthday parties last 2 weeks.

1. Mark Choo's farewell/bday

We got him a freakishly good Tickle Him EmoElmo

Food was gone before I got there, ended up with KFC. No worries I love Hot & Spicy anyway.

Too bad we didn't have the chance to know each other moar.

2. Alan's 21st

Alan's the chocolaty middle guy

Good macaroni and cheese by his mom. Rendang and all that too. Happy being an adult dude!

Happy belated both of you. On this blog anyway.

On other stuff......

ACT practice is intense, good thing I'll be working in the background

The biggest props project EVAR...find out next week

Anyway, Stef and Vijay asked me over to teach them my mom's secret Sheppard's Pie

Some miscalculation means we had to bake the pie twice, each rotation.

Final product, only mistake I made was not enough MEAT!!

Still...happy faces I see...

Yes this post is very rushed...because I'm suppose to get to the cinema now....

Off to the movies me goes

Weekends and jumpings

Wednesday, October 03, 2007

Last weekend was a short break from the cram that is the study week. Sis came back from Hong Kong with goodies. Mid Autumn festival just passed but fret not, those calorie packed parcels are still out there if you look at the right places. Sis brought home a bunch of them from the land of Dim Sum and Wantan Mee.

mooncake with nuts and meat

mini mooncake

some mooncake-ish kuih with century egg...yea those black eggs you get with your porridge

Then there's this huge mooncake that cost her RM50 for a piece. Contains 9 salted yolks. 9!

The granddaddy of mooncakes..somewhere on it says 9 yolks

yolk in every slice

and all that other mooncakes

egg rolls

and egg tards.

There's this donut mania around the local blogosphere. Why get all obsessed with candy-coated fried dough that makes you fat when you can have bread-coated...

...fried biscuits that makes you fat? uh no

...fried chicken that makes you fat. Booyah!

Popped a few into the oven and yeh! baby! Prefer them over donuts any day. Add...

...mom's milky mashed taters and you got a smiling fat ass - me!

Of course food wasn't all she packed home.

Quiksilvers~! I got the blue pink ones...ghey~

Didn't get to study much last weekend cause I had to do a video recording of our robotic arm for our assignment. ugghh~ Ah Kiong better have some good marks for me...maybe I'll post the video here once I'm done :D One more week to celebrations and festivities !

then let's go jumping!

Parrot Fish

Sunday, August 26, 2007

Last Sunday I a call from Ah Hua, one of my classmates asking "wan eat fish?". Ah Hua is a fishing enthusiast and is currently an invited writer for a chinese fishing magazine and gets paid RM500 per article. That's how good he is. While studying for the last finals he's been telling us how good the parrot fish is, and this semester he took a whole cooler box of that down from Kuantan. I'm surprised this fish is edible but fish sounds good to me~
So Calvin "baba" Chow, Ah Hua and his girlfriend Amy, and Addy Chan all went over to Addy's girlfriend, Yen's house because her kitchen is the best equipped.

The parrot fish I've been told wonderful stories about

Parrot fish is a reef fish and comes in many colours, including purple and green. Really different from your average market fish. I was told it's even more colourful when alive. I think I've seen this fish while vacationing in Redang before.

Baba told me to start taking pics and this is almost everyone

Girls doing their thing..Amy on the left, Yen on the right

The girls told us to leave the kitchen and let them handle everything. So what did the guys do?
Watch tv and camwhore.

Macam old men talking business while their wives toil in the kitchen

Then we camwhored for abit

And the food was ready!

Better view of our beloved fish

We ate and ate until there was nothing left

A little souvenir of the parrot's beak haha

The fish was great, flaky and is best stimmed. The meat is extraordinarily white. Certainly different.
Some stuff about this group of people. The guys are all my classmates in the same major. The all have girlfriends and the girlfriends all know each other and they hang out together. I call them the couple club. Whenever they get together they would call me along, sometimes I feel like "tiang lampu" haha but their girlfriends are also very friendly. They all know me by name. See, why can't some girlfriends be like them *cough*

Off-topic

My autumn desktop set up. Mighty smexy (smelly+sexy) I must say~

July Condensed

Friday, August 03, 2007

The past few nights have been busy: with CF, CG, being with friends and gaming...haha. I returned to Priston Tale, a Korean mmorpg that I used to play back in secondary. But I'm on a private server now and if you ever play there pm me :D

So July is over and bulan patriotik is here. The past month was quite happenin' with every weekend spent with friends on outings and parties. All 21 years old ma..sure got lots of parties.
Here are some other less significant stuff that happened to me.

TAYAR PANCITS

On the day of Sue's party I went to church alone; pops was away on retreat. So being late I rushed there and I noticed my front right tire was really bumpy and I thought was some mud that caked on it since it was a rainy day. At church when I stepped out of the car I heard air escaping from that tire. Yay. Some screw got stuck deep in it. I probed the screw and managed to stop air from coming out. So in to the church for service I went. After the service, my tangan gatal I got a screw driver from the bunk and tried to get the damned thing out. And because it is a screw I literally screwed it out. Then air rushed out full force. Being smart I screwed it back in the hole but the damage was done. The tire was all floppy. So in the rain I decided to do the manly thing. Change the tires!. I've never done it before mind you.
So to the trunk I got everything that I needed and jacked the car up and replaced the tires and I was done in 5 minutes.
Woah! I just did something I've never done before in 5minutes. I guess changing tires are a mans thing hahaha.

The dastardly evil little prick..and it isn't even sharp!

RAINBOW CLEANS MY CAR

My friend Baba Calvin Chow is sales representative of the Rainbow Hydro-cleaning system. Basically means he's a salesman selling a vacuum machine. So Eddy Chan and I was invited over to his place to test out this "hydrocleaner".

family car...not MINE

Baba Chow ah beng :)

I haven't really cleaned the insides of my car in weeks but it looks clean.

Doesn't look canggih to me..

So this thing supposedly thoroughly cleans deep into fabric and I was skeptical at first...

this from my car....from clear water to kopi O kau
Isn't this familiar...looks like someone...

Ok I know...not funny...~

It sort of works and I didn't know the car was so dirty. So for the free cleaning services I'm repaying him with this "advertorial". If you're interested, call him for a free demo.

Window Messaging Service

I was leaving the Central Lecture Complex at campus, walking towards my car parked at the lecturers carpark which is closer to classes. From far I could see a piece of paper stuck on my windshield. A WMS or window messaging service(coined by Adrian). So I thought it was from Crew ajak minum or something. But this is what I got.

What the...?

Lecturer? Me? Of course not. Parking in the lecturers carpark? Am I looking for trouble? Of course not. I park there because I have..

..uh huh..my stickers of powaa~!

For those who don't know, these are MMU lecturer car stickers. So I can park anywhere I want!well almost. Don't ask me where I get it because I'm not sharing my powaa with anyone else har har har!! And the person who sent me the WMS?

Our favourite Indian macha~

Thanks Vijay for making me thought I was going to get saman-ed. Joker.

CHEAP INDIAN MEALS

Thanks to Baba Chow again, I was introduced to a really nice Indian stall at Bukit Bruang foodcourt. Tired of a Indian meal that costs about RM5 minimum?

At this Indian stall, everything you see costs a total of RM2.80

Papadam, a curried piece of chicken and two potatoes, two serving of veges and a cup of ais kosong. Winnar! The store owner's a nice dude and speaks a little English. The only downside is that the choices are limited.
And the food isn't really orgasmic-ally nice or anything, but it's good enough to keep me coming back for more.

That's about it. July 2007 was a good month. Off to class now. Bees

Last Saturday...

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

What do I do on the weekends in a town as boring as Melaka you may ask. Here's something to give you an idea...

I awoke at 10a.m. last Saturday, got online with Kiwen and Han, and we decided on Malay food. Lot 85 is the name of the place and nasi briani the game. We left at 11.30 determined to beat the lunchtime crowd.

Kiwen's with Ayam Kurma and Bayam

Han had the same.
This is mine with Ayam Goreng Berempah

Whilst eating guess who went and pinch my sides...
Yeap Vijay, in the background with Stef and me. That's Han in the foreground by the way.

What a coincidence. And I was just asking him where to get nice Briani a few days ago at gym. He said he woke up with a craving. A few minutes later another familiar face showed up..
Don with Suling.

Don was fetching her to the bus station and they decided to stop here for lunch. She's going to Johor.
Lot 85 is a very popular place to get Malay food with a lot of curries and rendangs and kurmas to choose from. Don't be surprised that half of the crowd here are non Malays. Muhibah la~ Come early or end up queuing as the crowd builds up during lunch time. So what next?
Rambutans la~

Kiwen's dad is running a printing service somewhere near town. Behind the shophouse is a big field and on that field is three rambutan trees. Whee~. Fruits for dessert. Free flow too.
We got to work straight away...
...taking turns...
...and savored in its sweet delights :D

If you notice the clothes here isn't the same as the ones above. The rambutan pics were taken the week before. We did had rambutan again after Lot 85 but we didn't take any pics. The same stuff happened so I can reuse the pics. I feel so "kampung boy", picking and eating rambutans of the trees. Fresh is the key word.
This is Han on Kiwen's "scrambler maut"

If you happen to see this bike in campus, it's Kiwen on it. Don also came later but he, as Kiwen would put it "no skill makan rambutan". So after awhile we hung out at the band room. What band room? haha I maybe I'll blog about it next time. Then we decided to go eat...
...Tong Sui

There's a nice little hawker at the foot of Bukit Cina, facing the Mitsubishi Showroom. Lot's of tong sui to choose from and some mee goreng and bihun goreng but we weren't hungry.

But that wasn't the end of it. Don bought an Optimus Prime toy for RM286!! And i just had to go play with it for the sake of my poor childhood haha. So over to his place we went. The toy is like as tall as your PC monitor and is a bitch to transform. In the span of 40 minutes we only managed to transform it from truck to robot, then back to truck once. Really complicated procedure and I was afraid of breaking the parts.
Me with a RM286 toy..yay

Went home at 5pm to get ready for church and that was the end of my day. Ahh but nightime brings other nocturnal activities as well. Haha I'll leave it for another time.

That was one of the more happening days really. Usually Saturdays I stay home and play games but sometimes I do get days like this that I feel is so fully used. Pics for this post courtesy of Kiwen and his canggih handphone. Wish I had my nokia 6131 back :(

Phew, long post..hope you enjoy it. Time for me beauty sleeps. Nights.
