The Moral Movie
Friday, August 17, 2007
This is a movie I made with my Moral assignment group. We were suppose to choose a topic and do a video presentation about it. We ended up meshing all the moral values we know. Took about 3 days to complete after we brainstormed about the theme and concept.
I directed one scene and edited two and also helped with the flow of the whole movie. Anyways enjoy our little movie.
MoralTV from shiru and Vimeo.
I laughed when I watched my acting part of the movie. So cheesy~ The movie received rousing ovations when we presented it to the class. Felt really good~
I just noticed some editting error at the end of the movie.Sorry for that.
Hope you guys leave some comments about this so I know how good this is.
Macross

salvaged the alien technology and in turn mass-produces variable fighters; fighter jets that could transform to Gerwalk mode or soldier mode(robot). Another alien race arrives, begins a pewpew war
and that's where all the nerd-gasm aerial dogfights happen.
From Macross Zero, the latest instalment
Macross spawned five anime series and three OVAs. sh|ru remembers watching this on TV along with Robotech and Genesis Climber Mospeada. Not too be confused with Macross, Robotech is the American rebranding of Macross together with Mospeada with totally different storyline.
So the point of this post is? With the release of Transformers that also focuses on transforming machines, it would be a dream to see this series adapted to the silver screen. Remember Starscream's F-22 Raptor? Macross is the same thing. Think of it as something like Transformers meets Stealth.
Macross+ dogfight(the YF-19 is sh|ru's fav variable fighter; the red-white one)
The chances of it is really slim, probably the fan-base isn't big enough. FF7 got their movie because of the super-huge fanbase. Not many know about Macross. The best bet would be Gundam.
This year will be the 25th anniversary of Macross. Hopefully the pull another anime out of their a$$es.

The movie was super cool. If you were born in the 70s-80s and had tv, then you would probably be farmiliar with the whole concept of robots transforming into vehicles. Lot's of action, chun babe and pewpew makes for a nerdgasm treat.
So let's dissect this movie a little.
The good :guess which are the bad guys
The bad :yeap this one..no cookie for guessing right
Pros outweigh the cons so it easily is worth the nine bucks for premier week.
A friend from IF camp, Siyabonga discussed with his fellow dorm-mates how Hollywood kills the black guy in all their movies. How you could jump in the sea with a black dude in the movie Jaws and the shark would go after the black dude first so you are free to casually backstroke back to shore, provided your skin is lighter in tone. Guess it applies to this movie as well lol.mm bewbs :D
RottenTomatoes gave it 59%
May not be very high of a rating, as all other mindless action movies. Still worth the watch. It's a guy thing. Not a movie to watch with your gf, but rather with your crew/gang/clique/bunch of guys etc.
off-topic
Transformers meet StarWars. The movie would be so full of win.

Nicholas Angel: I may not be a religious man Reverend, but I know right and I know wrong and I have the good grace to know which is which.
Reverend Philip Shooter: Oh, f$%@ off, grasshopper.
Angel shoots the Reverend
Reverend Philip Shooter: Jesus Christ!!!
Started of like the usual British comedy, but half way thru become a testosterone filled, adrenaline pumped action movie.
Reminiscent of Keeping Mum, but peppered with cheesy one-liners and lotsa guns.
Danny Butterman: Where's the trolley boy?
Nicholas Angel: In the freezer.
Danny Butterman: Did you say "cool off?"
Nicholas Angel: No I didn't say anything...
Danny Butterman: Shame.
Nicholas Angel: Well, there was the part that you missed where I distracted him with the cuddle monkey then i said "play times over" and I hit him in the head with the peace lily.
Danny Butterman: You're off the f#%kin' chain!
You get the idea that this movie was made purely for fun but with professionalism you expect a well-known director like Edgar Wright who also did the equally entertaining Shaun of the Dead. So it is advised that you don't take this movie seriously. It is British humour at it's best.
Rotten Tomatoes gave it 89%. Yarp.

*This movie is not for the faint-hearted or pregnant women
I'd hope enjoyed it. Well, actually it took us 3 days to finish filming this film and 1 day+ for the editing. Kind of a last minute job because we didn't expect that we can't really film it during night time as we planned. We used a normal digicam to film it, so i'd hope you bare the quality of it. Camera is one of the major difficulties that we had during the whole process and also lighting. The yellow torch that we hold, actually there's no batteries in it, just to show the proffesionalism. Last but not least, i would like to thank Justin and Sylv for doing this film together, one of the things that i woudn't forget .
